Maribojoc Officials Visit Bohol Towns
Municipal officials of the local government of Maribojoc, Bohol went on a one-day Benchmarking Tour last Wednesday to different municipalities and government agencies as well as private establishments who have programs on Agriculture, Fishery and Tourism. The objective of the activity was to be acquainted with and recognize the different policies and good practices on the programs that can be replicated in Maribojoc.
Mayor Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr. and Vice-Mayor Fructuoso F. Redulla, Jr. led the team composed of all Sangguniang Bayan (SB) members, SB secretary and staff, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Municipal Local Government Officer and Municipal Agriculture Officer.
From Maribojoc, the group proceeded to the towns of Corella, Sikatuna, Loboc, Bilar, Batuan, Carmen and Trinidad during the first half of the day. In Trinidad, the local government presented their policies and good practices in agriculture and tourism, particularly in the preservation of caves and establishment of fishponds.
In the afternoon, they visited the Agri Demo Farm in Ubay, as well as the National Dairy Authority and the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC). In the PCC, the group were oriented on the management of dairy Carabao and the production of dairy products.
While in Candijay, the benchmarking team had a discussion with the local officials as to the establishment and management of fish cages. Their last stop was at the Pantollana Residence in Garcia Hernandez before they travelled back to Maribojoc later in the evening.
Since the town is a 2010 and 2011 winner of the Seal of Good Housekeeping Award given by the Department of Interior and Local Government to local governments for its good governance performance in internal housekeeping, its executive and legislative departments continue to learn from the lessons of other towns to serve its constituents better. #
