LEGEND OF JANDIG:

JANDIG (1903) – There are several versions how barangay Jandig got its name. A simple version, as told by the oldest living folks, is that the place is named to the pattern of its topography. The place is hilly. There are hills that form part of the mountain ranges of Maribojoc. These hills seem to lean on the big sloping mountains. Jandig is derived from the Visayan word “handay” which means sloping and also from the word “sandig” which means leaning. Geographically the place is likely leaning to sloping big mountains. From the two Visayan words “handay” and “sandig,” Jandig was given its name.
