A RESOLUTION REQUESTING ALL COASTAL BARANGAY OFFICIALS TO HOLD A FISHING PERMIT INSPECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE BARANGAYS.

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Bayan received reports that some fishermen from Punta Cruz, Guiwanon and other coastal barangays of Maribojoc are still operating without a fishing permit;

WHEREAS, some fishermen from neighboring municipalities are operating in the Maribojoc Seawaters without securing the required fishing permit;

WHEREAS, dynamite fishing, poisoning, lamp shiners, licom-licom and other destructive fishing activities are rampant in the Maribojoc Seawaters;

WHEREAS, the Seashore Patrol warned some fishermens to secure the said permit but still they refuse to pay such;

WHEREAS, it is the duty and function of the barangay officials to enact laws said ordinances as mandated in the Local Government Code of 1992;

WHEREAS, the required fishing permit are the Mayor’s Permit and the fishing fee issued from the Office of the Mayor and Treasurer’s Office respectively;

WHEREAS, the coastal barangay officials should submit an inspection report at their required format within 30 days upon implementation of this resolution for consolidation purposes;

WHEREFORE, be it resolved, that Barangay Officials in the coastal barangays of Maribojoc should encourage fishermen in their respective barangays to secure the required fishing permit.

BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, the copies of this resolution be furnished to all the concerned for their proper guidance and implementation.
