RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE SVI-CAT-I UNIT THROUGH MR. TEOFILO LONGJAS TO CONDUCT A CIVIC ACTION PROGRAM ON TREE PLANTING WITHIN THE VICINITY OF BOLOCBOLOC SPRING AND CANSAWON SPRING OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, it is undeniable that one of the sources of potable water in our municipality, the Bolocboloc Spring has dropped its water level;

WHEREAS, the said spring is the main source of water fit for human consumption and for washing soiled clothes as well as for bathing for the nearby residents of the town as well as neighboring towns;

WHEREAS, if the said spring is not given due attention for both the government as well as private sectors, time will come that the spring will dry up due to the scarcity of forest resources;

WHEREAS, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources remarkably stated that the main cause of the decrease of potable water is the wanton destruction of our forest resources in the mountainous regions by lack of concern and undisciplined citizens;

WHEREAS, one of the programs of the Citizen Army Training is the encouragement of planting trees in any public lands and in some instances, in private lands;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol is repeatedly exhorting all barangay residents within the locality of Maribojoc; it is likewise praiseworthy for young citizens to hearken the campaign;

WHEREFORE, it is hereby resolved, to request the SVI-CAT-I Instructor, Mr. Teofilo Longjas, to conduct a tree planting activity on the specified location.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Teofilo Longjas, Mrs. Erlinda R. Ilano, Principal of Saint Vincent Institute and to the Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
