RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORITY TO THE LOCAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE, HON. LEONCIO B. EVASCO, JR. TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE PUNTA CRUZ MARINE SANCTUARY MANAGEMENT COUNCIL FOR THE USE OF PATROL BOAT.

WHEREAS, in line with the national, provincial and municipal governments’ thrust on the conservation and protection of the coastal resources, a 10.0513 – hectare area has been identified and declared as Marine Protected Area (MPA) by the Local Government of Maribojoc by virtue of Municipal Ordinance No. 29, Series of 2004;
WHEREAS, the establishment of an MPA is basically aimed to preserved, protect and conserve the coastal and fishery resources of the municipality and ensure their sustainable use for the benefit of the fisherfolks;
WHEREAS, to encourage strong participation of the Community, and for them to develop a sense of ownership of the established marine sanctuary, the Punta Cruz MPA Management Council, composed of local fisherfolks and stakeholders, has been organized;
WHEREAS, for an effective and efficient management of the marine sanctuary, the need for a patrol boat is felt imperative, hence the Maribojoc-LGU, thru the Department of Energy, accessed one (1) patrol boat for the use of the Punta Cruz MPA Management Council;
WHEREAS, this patrol boat, being a property of the municipality, must be covered with a necessary deed, before it shall be turned-over to the Punta Cruz MPA Management Council for their use and custody;;
WHEREAS, the Hon. Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr. being the local chief executive, is hereby granted authority to enter into a MOA with the Punta Cruz MPA Management Council, laying down in such instrument, specified terms and conditions upon which the use and management of such patrol boat must be anchored;
WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, in its session duly assembled, to grant the Hon. Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr. authority to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Punta Cruz Marine Sanctuary Management Council for the use of the Municipality-owned patrol boat;
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution be furnished the Honorable Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr., MPDO Engr Ma. Nenita R. Chiu, the Punta Cruz MPA Management Council, the Punta Cruz Marine Sanctuary Management Council and such other agencies involved for their information and prompt action.
