RESOLUTION REQUESTING BISHOP LEONARDO Y. MEDROSO, D.D., , DIOCESE OF TAGBILARAN THROUGH REV. FR. EFREN D. DOLAUTA, PARISH PRIEST, HOLY CROSS PARISH, MARIBOJOC, BOHOL TO ALLOW THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING OFFICIAL TO ENTER THE BELFRY OF THE HOLY CROSS PARISH CHURCH AND ITS PREMISES TO INSPECT AND DETERMINE THE STRUCTURAL STABILITY AND SAFETY OF THE SAID EDIPICE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NATIONAL BUILDING CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES.

WHEREAS, it is a public knowledge that the belfry of the Holy Cross Parish Church of Maribojoc, Bohol is in dangerous condition and it needs an immediate rehabilitation for the safety of the general public;
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 1096 otherwise known as the “National Building Code of the Philippines” hereby declared to be the policy of the State to safeguard life health property and public welfare, consistent with the principles of sound environmental management and control;
WHEREAS, the Building Official in its territorial jurisdiction, shall be primarily responsible for the enforcement of the provisions of this Code as well as of the implementing rules and regulations issued therefore;
WHEREAS, when there is a dangerous and ruinous buildings and structures or otherwise dangerous to human life in relation to existing use, the Building Officer shall order its repair, vacation or demolation depending upon the degree of danger to life, health or safety;
WHEREAS, in order that the state and its officials will not be blamed by the inhabitants of Maribojoc on the condition of the belfry of the Maribojoc Parish Church, it is imperative that the Building official of Maribojoc shall perform its duties and responsibilities per provisions of the National Building Code of the Philippines;
WHEREAS, it is the clamor of the people particularly the parishioners of Maribojoc that said belfry of the Maribojoc Parish Church will be rehabilitated before any untoward accident will happen;
WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol in its session duly assembled;
BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to request Bishop, Msgr. Leonardo Y. Medroso, D.D., Diocese of Tagbilaran through Rev. Fr. Efrain D. Dolauta, Parish Priest, Holy Cross Parish Church, Maribojoc, Bohol to allow the Municipal Building official to enter the belfry of the Holy Cross Parish Church and its premises to inspect and determine the structural stability and safety of the said edifice in compliance with the National Building Code of the Philippines;
BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that copy of this resolution be furnished, Bishop Leonardo Y. Medroso, Bishop’s Palace, Diocese of Tagbilaran through Rev. Fr. Efren D. Dolauta, parish Priest, Holy Cross Parish, Maribojoc, Bohol and Hon. Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr., Municipal Mayor, Maribojoc, Bohol, for their appropriate action and consideration.
