CREATING A TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP TO OVERSEE AND CONDUCT TRAININGS AND SEMINARS ON GENDER, REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (G/RH) ELEMENTS, RIGHTS AND ITS RELATED LAWS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, the Hon. Mayor Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr. has called all Sangguniang Bayan Members and Barangay Captains of the Municipality of Maribojoc to attend and participate for an Orientation seminar on Gender, Reproductive Health (G/RH) Elements, Rights and its Related Laws held on January 22-23, 2008 at the SB Session Hall of Maribojoc, Bohol;
WHEREAS, the objectives of the orientation seminar is to know the basis of gender sensitivity and to dispel misconceptions that gender and reproductive health are good only for female individuals;
WHEREAS, the orientation seminar was conducted by the PROCESS-Bohol Foundation in cooperation with the PATH-Remedios Foundation and the LGU-Maribojoc in order to inculcate in the minds of the people the basic knowledge on gender issues particularly on reproductive health elements, rights and its related laws which affect the lives of the people;
WHEREAS, in order that our constituents will be informed of the different important provisions of R.A. No. 8504 otherwise known as National Aids Law, the R.A. No. 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women Law, R.A. No. 9208 of the Child Trafficking Law, R.A. No. 6955 or “Mail Order Bride Law” and the R.A. No. 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, it is necessary to let the people know of their rights and obligations as citizens of our country;
WHEREAS, during the seminar, it was agreed by the participants and the sponsoring agencies who conducted the seminar that the constituents of Maribojoc will be informed on the Gender, Reproductive Health Elements, Rights and its related laws through a Re-Echo orientation seminar to be conducted by a Technical Working Group;
WHEREAS, the Technical Working Group will be composed of the following, to wit:
1.Department of Education
2.Municipal Social Welfare Office
3.Municipal Health Office
4.Sangguniang Bayan Office
5.PNP Office
6.PROCESS-Bohol Foundation
7.PATH-Remedios Foundation
8.NGO/PO with reproductive knowledge and orientation on health
WHEREAS, the members of the Technical Working Group will be called to attend and participate a Trainors’ Training before they will conduct a Re-Echo orientation seminar in the different barangays so that they will have a full knowledge on Gender, Reproductive Health and its Related Laws;
WHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Sangguniang Bayan in their session duly assembled;
RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to create a Technical Working Group to oversee and conduct trainings and seminars on Gender, Reproductive Health (G/RH) Elements, Rights and its Related Laws in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol;
RESOLVED FURTHER that the trainings or seminar for Trainors will be called by the Chief Executive for the Re-Echo orientation seminar in the different barangays;
RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, that copies of this resolution be furnished, the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr., Maribojoc, Bohol, Ms. Emelia Roslinda, Executive Director, PROCESS-Bohol Foundation, Ubujan, Tagbilaran City, Mrs. Myrna L. Alaba, PATH-Remedios Foundation, Cebu City and other concerned for their guidance and information.
