AN ORDINANCE AMENDING MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 1, SERIES OF 2005, RE: REGULATING THE SCRAP-BUYING ACTIVITIES OF SCRAP-BUYERS AND SCAVENGERS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

PRELIMINARY NOTES
WHEREAS, Municipal Ordinance No. 1, series of 2005 had been approved and adopted for implementation;
WHEREAS, it has been observed that the said ordinance is not fully implemented as several complaints have reached the authorities on rampant scavenging and stealing of scrap irons and other scrap materials;
WHEREAS, after a thorough review, it has been noted that the use of some inappropriate words and terms in the ordinance might have contributed to its lackadaisical enforcement and implementation;
WHEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol that:
SECTION 1: Title:
The title of Municipal Ordinance No. 1, series of 2005, is hereby amended to read as Re: Regulating the Scrap-Buying Activities of Scrap-Buyers and Scavengers in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol
SECTION 2: Definition of Term (additional):
d. Scavengers – gathers of things discarded by others.
SECTION 3: The buyers and scavengers of scrap materials must first secure a mayor’s permit and consequently register and secure a barangay clearance in their areas of operation..
SECTION 4: Effectivity: This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.

Let copies of this ordinance be furnished the Maribojoc PNP and Barangay Captains of the 22 barangays of Maribojoc, Bohol for guidance and implementation.
