AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF THE PUNTA CRUZ WATCHTOWER PARK, AND FACILITIES OF PUNTA CRUZ, MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, the Local Government Units has the power to regulate the use of streets, avenues, alleys, sidewalks, bridges, park and other public places;

WHEREAS, the Punta Cruz Watchtower and Park owned and operated by the Municipal Government of Maribojoc, Bohol has been attracting local and foreign tourist since it is historic and is situated in a strategic and overlooking the scenic Maribojoc Bay and foremost it has generated additional revenue to the Municipality;

WHEREAS, there is a remarkable increase of picnic goers coming from different barangays, municipalities and provinces, there is a necessity of making guidelines in the use of the Punta Cruz Watchtower, surroundings, grounds and facilities;

WHEREAS, tourist usually take souvenir pictures of the watchtower but due to some obstruction like drying of copras by the local residents of the pavement area and the parking of vehicles by picnic goers and the repugnant odor of the surroundings, they feel inconvenient of taking pictures;

WHEREAS, some of the facilities of the said park are not properly used by the picnic goers and local viewers, there is a necessity of setting guidelines for the preservation of the said municipal facility;

WHEREFORE, premised on the following grounds be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol in its assembled session that;

SECTION: 1. It is unlawful for any person to use the pavement are infront of the
historical watchtower as a parking place for vehicles, for drying of copras, laudried clothes and other purposes which tend to obstruct views for picnic goers and visiting tourist.

SECTION: 2. The following acts are considered unsanitary, destructive and
prohibitive acts against the use of the watchtower, its surroundings and facilities therein.

a) Tying and pasturing of any animals inside the park.

b) Craffitti writings on walls of the watchtower and toilets, railings and picnic shed / kiosk.

c) Improper use of comfort rooms by not flushing after using.

d) Extraction of sand and gravel along the shoreline of the watchtower.

e) Urinating inside the watchtower.

f) Throwing of empty bottles within the premises

g) No reservation for the use of facilities shall be allowed

SECTION: 3. Leftovers and other waste by picnic goers should be placed in the
appropriated cemented garbage disposal.

SECTION: 4. Vehicles and motorcycles shall be parked in the designated parking
area in a orderly position.

SECTION: 5. The gate of the Punta Cruz Watchtower shall be opened during all
days of the week from 8:00 in the morning and shall be closed at 6:00 in the evening.

SECTION: 6. Any person or group of persons who violates the provisions of this
ordinance shall be penalized:

First Offense – P100.00

2nd & 3rd Offense – P500.00

SECTION: 7. This ordinance takes effect upon approval..
