AN ORDINANCE BANNING THE HUNTING OF OUR NATIVE PIGEONS LOCALLY KNOWN AS “TOCMO” FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD OF YEARS WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol, that:
Sec. 1 – Definition of Terms:
a.) Pigeons – - – a bird of a widely distributed family. It is a dove applied specifically
to many of the smaller species as tocmo, alimocon, punay, manatad
and others. One regarded as pure and gentle bird.
b.) Hunting – - – an act of one that hunts using any method of capturing or killing
doves and other birds for food or sports with the use of guns,
slingshots and others.
Sec. 2 – to restore the presence and abundance of native doves like tocmo, alimocon,
punay, manatad and others in the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol which have
been annihilated by bird hunters and to give a lond period to multiply and grow
big, it is unlawful for any person or group of persons to hunt the same species in
any barangay within the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol.
Sec. 3 – Any person or group of persons who violates the provisions of this ordinance
shall be fined in the amount of One Thousand Pesos ( P 1,000.00 ) or at the
discretion of the court.
Sec. 4 – This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
