AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL VIDEO COVERAGE OPERATORS WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL TO BE ACCREDITED AS A PREREQUISITE IN COVERING ANY SOCIO-CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC, BOHOL.

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as Local Government Code of 1991, has given the local government units greater autonomy, especially, the power to generate its own resources;

WHEREAS, every local government unit acts as a corporate entity and as such, it is imbued with corporate powers including the power to generate sources of revenue and to levy taxes, fees inorder to carry out its development plans, programs of objectives and priorities;

WHEREAS, video operators are hired by residence of the locality for the purpose of covering pictures during weddings and other social and cultural exhibitions;

WHEREAS, these operators are engaged casually in their business in the locality and derived big profit while the local government is deprived of its revenue;

WHEREFORE, be it ordained, by the Sangguniang Bayan in its regular session that:

SECTION 1: All video coverage operators hired by one person or entity to cover picture in the municipality for commercial purposes are required to have their business firm name accredited with the local government in the Office of the Mayor.

SECTION 2: Video coverage operators are required to pay the amount of two hundred pesos (P200.00) as a requisite for accreditation side from those required by national or special laws. Accreditation shall be done every year.

SECTION 3: Applicants for accreditation may register their firm any time of the year specially fifteen (15) before their video coverage.

SECTION 4: No video coverage op0erator is allowed to cover picture for commercial purpose within the municipality unless they have been officially registered in the municipality.

SECTION 5: Any person or group of persons who violate the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined in the amount of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) or an imprisonment of not more than six months or both at the discretion of the court.

SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall take effect upon approval
