REGULATING THE PEDDLERS OF DIFFERENT SCRAP MATERIALS ON THEIR BUSINESS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MARIBOJOC.

WHEREAS, it has been observed that there are some people who are buying scrap irons, empty bottles and other scrap materials from the different households in the municipality with the necessary permits from the Office of the Mayor and from the barangay government units;

WHEREAS, some residents have reported that their scrap materials were lost due to the buying activities of these items;

WHEREAS, in order to prevent the stealing of scrap materials, it is necessary that the buyers of scrap materials will be required to secure permits from the authorities;

WHEREFORE be it ordained by the Sangguniang Bayan of Maribojoc, Bohol that:

SECTION 1: Definition of Terms:
a.) Scrap iron – Junk metallic element
b.) Empty bottles – containing nothing which is made of glass
c.) Scrap materials – Any kind of scrap iron, empty bottles, plastic and the likes which are considered waste materials.

SECTION 2: No person or group of person is allowed to buy scrap irons empty bottles scrap plastic materials of any kind from different households within the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Maribojoc, Bohol without securing first a Mayor’s Permit.

SECTION 3: The buyers of scrap materials shall secure first a Barangay clearance from the barangays they intend to do the buying activities before obtaining a Mayor’s Permit.

SECTION 4: The peddlers of scrap materials will only secure barangay clearance and Mayor’s Permit once for every year.

SECTION 5: No scavengers of any kind of scrap materials will be allowed to pick up any scrap materials without registering their names in the Barangay Captains Office in the respective barangays.

SECTION 6: The buyers of different scrap materials be required to register in the Office of the Barangay Captain in the barangays every time they conduct their business.

SECTION 7: The buyers of scrap materials shall provide bags for the empty bottles and provide “trapal” cover of their vehicles or motorcabs while negotiating in the roads within the jurisdiction of Maribojoc, Bohol.

SECTION 8: Penalty: Any violation of the provisions of this ordinance shall be find of P 1,000.00 or an imprisonment of five (5) days or both at the discretion of the court.

SECTION 9: Repealing Clause: Any provisions of an inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed or amended accordingly.

SECTION 10: Effectivity: This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
