Tasks and Functions:

  1. Undertakes the procurement program in the purchase of all equipment, supplies and materials for the different offices of the municipality and process all purchase requests, canvass papers, purchase orders and other documents relative to procurement transactions;
  2. Facilitates/prepares for the approval of the Local Chief Executive on Annual Procurement Program for the ensuing fiscal year that will contain an itemized quantity of supplies or property needed for the entire fiscal year, complete description thereof as to kind, quantity, the estimated cost, and the balance on hand. The total estimated cost of the annual procurement shall not exceed the total appropriations authorized for the acquisition of supplies and property;
  3. Undertakes the inspection and verification of purchases made by the different offices of the municipal government by authorized inspector in conformity with the specifications in the Purchase Order (PO);
  4. Responsible for the care, utilization and custody of supplies and other aspects of supply management in the municipal government, and should have a direct responsibility of the person in actual physical possession of supplies and property or entrusted with its custody and control and shall be responsible for its proper use and care and shall exercise good diligence in the utilization and safekeeping thereof;
  5. Responsible for the accreditation of suppliers/bidders to enable them to be a bonafide dealers/suppliers and can participate in any bidding to be conducted by the Bids and Awards Committee as long as they meet the requirements;
  6. Responsible in the disposal of supplies and properties (real properties, buildings and other physical structures) which may become unserviceable for any case or are no longer needed and shall be sold, whenever applicable, at public auction, subject to applicable rules and regulations and may be disposed in the following manner:
    1. Sale through negotiation; and
    2. Transfer without cost to other offices or departments or other government agencies.
  7. Undertakes the general supervision n the improvement/maintenance of buildings, plaza and grounds around the Presidencia Complex excluding the Maribojoc Cultural and Sports Center which is under the direct supervision of the Economic Enterprises Management Office; and
  8. Undertakes the over-all maintenance of the street lighting facilities under the care of the municipality.
